The "NanoAlb Ignite Projects" workshop, held on 14th-15th December 2022 at the Academy of Science of Albania, featured a notable presentation by Prof. Dr. Majlinda Vasjari on "Sensors and Biosensors Using Nanomaterials." Organized in collaboration with NanoAlb, the academy's nanoscience and nanotechnology unit, the workshop promoted international collaboration in nanotechnology research.
Adopting a hybrid format to facilitate both in-person and online participation, the event attracted NanoAlb scientific group members from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and international delegates from ICN2, Italy, and Israel. The workshop also welcomed representatives from key institutions, private sector firms, and academia interested in nanotechnology applications and collaborations.
The aim was to showcase the latest scientific achievements within the NanoAlb community and to explore the outcomes of the Ignite Projects 2021-2022, designed to bolster cooperation among NanoAlb groups and their global partners. Discussions also covered sustainable collaboration models between academia, research, and industry.
Highlights included a plenary session with insights from distinguished professors on science-industry collaborations and a second day focused on intellectual property, start-ups, and diaspora engagement. This event underscored the importance of nanotechnology in fostering scientific innovation and practical industry applications, paving the way for future partnerships.
